You'll be spending your day in comfort and class aboard JR's Hooker, from the beautifully kept teak cockpit and release marine chair, Tuna Tubes, the finest tackle & equipment, to the fully air-conditioned cabin, staterooms and bathroom. Those not fishing can enjoy the entertainment center with TV, stereo and DVD player, or make use of the full kitchen and refrigerator/freezer. A roomy master bed & 2 bunks available for downtime.
2 Cruzair air conditioners keep things cool, state of the art Simrad & Furuno electronics keep everything running smoothly, ample power is supplied by an 8KW Northern Lights generator. |

Capt. Kevin Hibbard has been a fisherman as long as he can remember. Along with 12 years experience fishing in Kona, he has fished in some of the best waters around the world including Australia, The Azores islands, Cape Verde, Africa, Mexico and Costa Rica. He has his share of World Record catches! Adept at conventional as well as fly fishing, from 2lb. to 130lb. Kevin is very competitive & participates in Fishing tournaments every year. He loves night fishing for Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore and Broadbill Swordfish. Kevin says:
"I'm a firm believer in lure fishing, but will fish live bait as well" |

Owner Jim Robinson has over 20 years experience in the trucking industry,
growing from a single truck to over 100 vehicles hauling materials.
His motto was: "If we can't truck it, ***k it!"
He's also raised and raced thoroughbred horses and currently maintains his horse farm in Lathrop, California. He fell in love with Kona over 20 years ago when he initially bought property here. Jim calls Kona home now and loves sportfishing as well as horseracing.
He is an active participant in fishing tournaments and was the winner of the 2005 Black and Blue Shootout here in Kona. |

Directions from airport:
From Kona airport, turn right onto 19 (Queen K highway), drive south 4.5 miles until you see sign for HONOKOHAU HARBOR. Turn right onto Kealakehe Parkway and veer to your left onto South Harbor Road into marina.
You'll find JR's HOOKER in slip # G25 on the South side near restrooms.
